Our Team

At the heart of Posy Park is Jem, the founder and driving force behind our program. With a deep love for dogs and a commitment to responsible breeding, Jem established Posy Park with one clear vision: to raise healthy, well-adjusted, and ethically bred companion dogs in a loving, family-centred environment.

Jem brings years of hands-on experience, research, and a genuine passion for animal welfare to every aspect of Posy Park. From early neurological stimulation and temperament testing to ongoing enrichment and socialisation, Jem has carefully designed our breeding program to prioritise the wellbeing of every dog... and every future family they’ll join.

But Posy Park is not a one-person operation. We are proud to have a small network of trusted guardian families, who play an essential role in our breeding program. These wonderful families raise and love our parent dogs as part of their own households, ensuring they live happy, enriched lives outside of a kennel environment. By partnering with guardian homes, we can provide our breeding dogs with the individual attention, care, and companionship they deserve throughout their entire lives.

And of course, our dogs themselves are the heart and soul of Posy Park. Without their loyalty and endless capacity to love, none of this would be possible. They are not just part of the program, they are our family, and the very reason we do what we do.

Together, Jem, our guardian families, and our beloved dogs make up the team at Posy Park — a team dedicated to raising puppies with care, intention, and integrity.

About our Dogs.

At Posy Park, our dogs are the center of everything we do. Each of our parent dogs is extensively vet-checked, DNA tested, and temperament tested, ensuring that only the healthiest and happiest companions are part of our program. They live enriched lives as cherished family members within our homes, enjoying love, play, and a lifestyle that nurtures their wellbeing.

Within our breeding program, we have both toy and miniature sizes, carefully chosen to suit a variety of homes. As we work towards the MDBA breed standard for the Theodore, our program currently includes both Cavoodles and Theodores of multiple generations. This allows us to thoughtfully build consistency in health, structure, and temperament for the future of the Theodore breed.

This can be a lot of information, so if you're wanting to learn more, we’ve created a dedicated section that explains the differences between Cavoodles/Theodores, and the generations, including traits, we are working with. Select the "Cavoodle's explained" tab at the top of this page.

Our Program & Curriculum

Early Neurological Stimulation & Early Scent Introduction (ENS, ESI)

At Posy Park, we begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) with our puppies from just 3 days old. ENS was first developed by the U.S. military (“Bio Sensor” program) to improve the performance of working dogs. It involves a series of gentle handling exercises done daily for the first two weeks of life. Research has shown that ENS helps strengthen a puppy’s resilience, stress tolerance, immune system, and overall development.

Alongside ENS, we use Early Scent Introduction (ESI), where puppies are safely exposed to new scents each day. This simple exercise helps develop their nose and brain, encouraging confidence, curiosity, and stronger scenting ability later in life.

Together, ENS and ESI give our puppies the very best start—building healthy bodies and balanced minds before they even open their eyes.

Early Grooming Sensitisation

As a certified dog groomer, Jem brings her professional skills into the puppy program by introducing gentle grooming experiences from an early age. Each puppy is gradually exposed to brushing, nail trims, and the sounds of clippers and dryers in a calm, positive way. This early grooming is repeated multiple times before our puppies leave for their new homes, helping them build confidence and comfort with handling. For Cavoodles and Theodores, who require regular coat care, this early sensitisation makes future grooming a stress-free and positive experience.

Crate Training Introduction

Another element of our curriculum is that we gently introduce our puppies to crate training before they leave for their new families. This helps puppies see the crate as a safe, comfortable space rather than something unfamiliar. For families whose puppies travel interstate or internationally by air, this early introduction makes the journey far less stressful. Feedback from our families confirms that puppies who have had crate exposure with us adapt more quickly, settle calmly, and enjoy a smoother travel experience.

6 week Vet Checks

At six weeks of age, every Posy Park puppy has a comprehensive veterinary check-up to ensure they are healthy, strong, and developing as they should. During this visit, our puppies are also microchipped and receive their first vaccination, giving them the best start for a safe, healthy future. This step provides peace of mind for families, knowing their puppy has been thoroughly examined and cared for by trusted professionals before joining their new home.

A Nutritional Start

We believe that a strong, healthy start in life begins with excellent nutrition. Our puppies are gently weaned onto a carefully balanced diet that combines Lyka fresh whole food with Petzyo’s premium quality kibble. This pairing delivers the best of both worlds, the natural goodness of fresh food together with the consistency, reliability, and complete nutrition of a scientifically formulated dry food.
Every puppy goes home with a supply of the same Petzyo premium kibble and Lyka fresh food they have been raised on, helping them transition smoothly and confidently into their new families and ensuring continuity of the exceptional nutrition that supports them from the very beginning.

Safe Socialisation

During their time with us, between 5 and 8 weeks of age, puppies go through a key developmental stage where they begin to explore the world with curiosity and confidence. Gentle, safe socialisation during this time helps them build positive associations with people, sounds, and new experiences. By introducing them to everyday sights and handling in a nurturing environment, we give our puppies the best start to becoming well-adjusted, happy, and resilient companions for life.

We’re proud to partner with Paws & Me, who run safe and supportive puppy yoga classes designed to nurture healthy social development. Puppies are gently introduced to new sights, sounds, and people in a calm environment. The shoeless space is thoroughly cleaned before, during, and after each session, and puppies are given plenty of rest breaks, feeding, and care to keep them comfortable.

Early, positive socialisation builds confidence, reduces fearfulness, and helps puppies grow into well-adjusted companions — all while keeping their wellbeing the top priority.
